Raising Awareness of the Menopause and it’s symptoms
OnePoll is proud to have taken part in multiple important menopause awareness month research projects for our clients, all united by a common objective; raising awareness of and sharing information around the menopause. Projects covered important topics such as not-so common symptoms, the most positive factors of going through the menopause, and how many people are going through that stage in life without even knowing it.
Key insights uncovered through the menopause research include:
- Just one per cent of women were aware more unusual symptoms like urinary frequency or vaginal changes were part of the journey to menopause.
- Of those women who are going through, or have had their menopause, just 40 per cent visited a GP to get help for their symptoms.
- As many as 57 per cent of women struggle to accept they were experiencing the change as they didn’t want to admit to themselves they were getting old.
- 74 per cent didn’t realise the menopause could be linked with weight gain.
In total, we conducted 16,000 surveys for our clients, who include Capsule Comms, Tangerine Comms, ITV’s Loose Women, Wella, Silentnight and Vitabiotics. We also delivered the UK’s largest menopause research project of all time for Essity.
Thanks to our clients for trusting us to deliver crucial insights on such an important topic, and help create national conversations centred around the menopause.
