The nation identifies the UK’s worst leader
Boris Johnson is the country’s worst ever prime minister, according to a poll of Brits.
Nearly a third (29 per cent) of 2,000 adults said Johnson was the worst UK leader in history, well ahead of second placed prime minister Tony Blair, who received 14 per cent of the vote.
Theresa May, who Boris Johnson succeeded as prime minister, ranked the third worst leader with 11 per cent, with David Cameron third on 10 per cent.
The survey, carried out by OnePoll, made for damning reading for Mr Johnson, with half of voters finding him to be dishonest, while a further 29 per cent agreed he was incompetent.
Four in 10 voters agreed Mr Johnson was a ‘good times’ leader who was totally out of his depth given the current circumstance. Just 10 per cent of people believed Mr Johnson was the best prime minister the country could hope for in the current troubled times.
The Conservative Party would face an uphill battle to keep the keys to Number 10 were a general election to be called tomorrow.
Labour would achieve the largest share of the vote with 33 per cent, with the Tories languishing behind on just 22 per cent, according to the survey.
The Lib Dems would secure 13 per cent of the vote, with the Greens on eight per cent.
